PROVIDENCE, R.I. — NAIL Communications today announced a new partnership with Rhode Island Pro Soccer to coordinate the design and development of the name, crest and colors for Rhode Island’s new professional men’s soccer team.
“NAIL uses courage and creativity to help brands fascinate and delight the people they serve,” said Jeanette Palmer, Partner at NAIL. “A professional sports franchise, one that Rhode Islanders can call their own, is an exciting opportunity for our state and we look forward to helping build an identity that showcases and captures the spirit and enthusiasm that makes Rhode Island great.”
“No decision will be more important for this club than our name and the story tied to it, all symbolized and embodied in our crest,” said Club Chairman Brett Johnson. “This is why it is so important for Rhode Islanders to share what they love most about their state, neighborhoods and the world’s game as we engage the community in our Listening Tours.”
Work is already underway with NAIL and Rhode Island Pro Soccer who are engaging stakeholders and community members for input and ideas that will inform the team’s identity including an online survey in English, Spanish and Portuguese, virtual listening sessions and an in-person listening tour. Community members can learn more and share their input via the club’s social channels on Facebook (@RhodeIslandProSoccer), Twitter (@RI_ProSoccer) and Instagram (@ri_prosoccer) and via the website at rhodeislandprosoccer.com.
The new Rhode Island professional soccer team will play in United Soccer League (USL) Championship, the second division of American men’s soccer. The USL is the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organization in North America with over 30 clubs in USL Championship. The club will call the new waterfront stadium at Tidewater Landing in Pawtucket their home pitch beginning in 2023.
